Procurement process
We aim to ensure that we achieve the best value for money and make doing business with us is made as simple and accessible as possible.
We expect to spend approximately £6 million on a range of goods and services from third parties. The majority of this expenditure is covered by formal contracts. For the majority of these contracts, invitations to tender are publicly advertised.
Procurement Act 2023
The rules governing public procurement are changing. The Procurement Act, which will reform the existing procurement rules, received Royal Assent in October 2023.
In September 2024, the Cabinet Office announced that the Procurement Act 2023 will now commence on 24 February 2025. Information for suppliers about the Act is available via: Information and guidance for suppliers - GOV.UK
A Cabinet Office webinar about the Act is to be held on Thursday, 23 January 2025 from 10:30 to 11:30am. This webinar is aimed at suppliers and any other external organisations with an interest in public procurement. Further details are available on eventbrite.
