Cherwell District Council’s Activate holiday club will run at venues in Banbury, Bicester and Kidlington starting Monday, 5 August.
To help young people make the most of the school holidays, the club offers a healthy mix of sports, arts, nature activities and games.
Councillor Rob Pattenden, Portfolio Holder for Healthy Communities, said: “Our Activate holiday clubs are incredibly popular with young people in north Oxfordshire. We’ve designed a programme that enables them to enjoy the benefits of physical activity in a welcoming and safe environment.
“Whether it’s rounders, cricket, or swimming, Activate helps children form friendships, build their confidence, and enjoy being part of a healthy team dynamic.
“We’re encouraging parents and guardians to book early and avoid missing out.”
There is something for everyone at Activate, with activities including parachute games, obstacle relays, rounders and, where available, swimming.
All staff leading the sessions are First Aid trained and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked. Activate holiday clubs are held at North Oxfordshire Academy in Banbury, Bicester leisure centre, and Kidlington and Gosford leisure centre.
The sessions cost £22.50 per day, running from 8.45am to 3pm and are offered for children aged 5 to 11.
The council’s summer holiday offering also includes free Activate and Eat holiday sessions for children who receive free school meals. These are advertised directly to eligible families through their schools.
