Cherwell District Council is supporting The Wildlife Trusts’ 30 Days Wild campaign, which promotes environmental awareness and improves mental and physical wellbeing.
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to take advantage of the numerous nature trails, green spaces, health routes and community groups to discover the joy of connecting with nature.
Councillor Rob Pattenden, Portfolio Holder for Healthy Communities, said: “Cherwell is the perfect place to carry out some random acts of wildness across June. From learning some hands-on skills at community gardens to observing our furry and feathered friends in their habitats, there is a lot to enjoy – with many activities being free.
“For those that are passionate about getting out and exploring, we have a number of walking trails across the district. In our urban centres, we have colourful and fun trails in Kidlington, Banbury and Bicester. For people looking to go off the beaten path, we have circular routes covering stunning villages and rural locations in Cherwell.
“We also have a number of wonderful community groups in Cherwell with links to the natural environment, including gardens, mental health charities, eco organisations and healthy place shaping, that have plenty of activities on offer.”
Cherwell District Council is committed to building healthier and more connected communities, ensuring residents can access and benefit from innovative programmes and services.
