Cherwell businesses urged to share their views on what they need

Local businesses are being asked to talk about how they want to grow and what they need from Cherwell District Council and partners to help them to prosper.

The council’s business needs survey aims to fully understand what is needed by Cherwell businesses.

The survey will gather information on the impacts of changing business conditions and capture views on skills, infrastructure, sustainability and other factors affecting their business and their potential growth.

Councillor Donna Ford, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, said: “Understanding what our businesses need will help us tailor support through our UK Shared Prosperity Funded projects. With the right insights, we can launch the right initiatives supporting business, jobs and economic growth. I urge all businesses to contribute so we fully understand how we can support them to grow and flourish.”

The survey results will shape the council’s delivery of its UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Rural England Prosperity Fund projects designed to support local businesses and build a thriving economy.

The council has secured £1.8 million of government funding through these two funds to boost productivity, spread opportunities and build pride in Cherwell communities.

A telephone survey is now underway. It will reach 700 businesses of all sizes involved in various activities throughout Cherwell district. Companies will be contacted by the council’s project partner, Public Perspectives, and invited to participate in a 20-minute telephone interview.

An online survey is also available for businesses, and the council is encouraging all business owners and managers to share their thoughts so a complete picture of what is important to them is gathered.

The online survey is available at, www.cherwell.gov.uk/business-needs-survey

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Rural England Prosperity Funds are part of the government’s Levelling Up agenda, with funding running through to March 2025.
