Applying for an Accessible Homes Grant
The Accessible Homes Grant (AHG) is a non-means-tested grant of up to £5,000 to help disabled people living in Cherwell to access and move around their homes safely. Typical work covered under an AHG include ramps and door widening for wheelchair access, and stairlifts.
Who can apply for this grant?
This form can be completed by the grant Applicant (the person needing the adaptation) or a Representative (someone on their behalf e.g. a relative).
To be eligible for this grant the Applicant must have been referred to us by an Occupational Therapist at Oxfordshire County Council.
What information will I need to apply?
To complete this form you will need to have the following details ready:
- Application Case Number - this will be on the letter we sent inviting you to apply and will be in the format CA-123456
- Applicant's Name
- Applicant's date of birth
- Applicant's National Insurance Number - you can find this on official documents such as a payslip or P60 or a letter from Dept of Work and Pensions / Pension Letter / Winter Fuel Allowance Letter
- Applicant's telephone number
- Applicant's email address (if the Applicant does not have email you can enter the Representative's email address)
- Applicant's home address (where the work will be done)
We will also need the following details for any Representative or other property owner (e.g. landlord)
