We are part of an Oxfordshire county-wide project called Move Together which works with people who live with Type 2 diabetes.
The project is supported by the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group and it is designed to support people living with diabetes in managing their condition and improving their fitness, health and wellbeing.
Being active is well known to have universal health benefits, but it can specifically serve to ensure blood glucose levels, blood pressure and cholesterol are kept within target ranges, help manage weight and ultimately prevent or delay common complications which are often associated with diabetes.
The project will look to work with established diabetes treatment groups, GP surgeries and local communities to increase the provision of sport and physical activity specifically designed to help managed the symptoms of diabetes through the medium of physical activity.
If you, or someone you know would benefit from being involved in this project, or to find out more please contact us on 01295 221803, or visit Get Oxfordshire Active for more information.
