Meeting places for new neighbourhoods
Traditionally, residents moving into brand new developments would need to wait for facilities enabling them to meet and form a sense of community. Bicester Garden Town has sought to change that, working with developers to provide a place for people to get together and form early relationships.
This was first achieved at Elmsbrook in North West Bicester where we worked closely with A2 Dominion to transform one of the homes into a community house. An array of sustainable initiatives and eco-friendly events now run from the premises. This successful pilot has been repeated at Graven Hill alongside Bromford Housing, with a community house being made available at 103 Graven Hill Road.
