Cooling towers
Cooling towers and evaporative condensers have been associated with outbreaks of legionnaires' disease, which is a type of pneumonia. If you are in control of a premises which has a cooling tower or evaporative condenser on site then you have a statutory duty to notify us of this under The notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations 1992. The purpose of the registration scheme is to identify potential sources of legionella risk.
There is no fee to register.

Once you have registered your cooling tower or evaporative condenser with us you must also tell us if the equipment is going to be changed, no longer used or removed.
